Soil and Water Conservation District
The mission of the Lac qui Parle Soil and Water Conservation District is to take available technical, financial and educational resources, what ever their source and focus or coordinate them so that they meet the needs of the local landusers to help them protect Lac qui Parle's natural resources.

On April 22, 2010, the LqP SWCD Celebrated Conservation with an Open House. In addition to celebrating our 60th Anniversary, we also celebrated the 75th Anniversary of NRCS; the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day; 45 Years of Conservation Work in LqP County for Curtis Nordaune; and National Volunteer Week, where we thanked our Earth Team Volunteers and Rain Gauge Monitors. Outstanding Conservationists
Each year the Soil and Water Conservation District selects a cooperator as its Outstanding Conservationist. In 2011 the District selected Joe Radermacher, Glen Radermacher, and Paul Radermacher as the Outstanding Conservationists. Click here to read about the Radermachers. Soil and Water Stewardship Week
The SWCD celebrates Soil and Water Stewardship Week each year from the last Sunday in April through the first Sunday in May by providing pastors stewardship materials to use in their Churches
