Boyd Legacy Gardens

The Boyd Legacy Gardens was part of a Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources Grant called "Lawns to Legumes Demonstration Neighborhoods". Which was actually the precursor to the current Pollinator Pathways Grant!
With the grant, the city of Boyd, MN, along with the help of the Lac qui Parle SWCD worked with local residents to install four types of beneficial planting practices: native pocket plantings, pollinator beneficial trees and shrubs, pollinators lawns and pollinator meadows. Together we created seven gardens around the city to demonstrate what native plant gardens looked like to the residents of Boyd.
It is called the Legacy Gardens because of the legacy of conservation and preservation the residents of boyd wanted to leave for future generations. You can learn more about the gardens on the city of Boyd's website here.
